Direct answer
Weapons serve two different roles in Halloween: The Game. Michael Myers can unlock selectable starting weapons and weapon-specific executions through progression. Civilians search Haddonfield for weapons, distractions, and defensive items that can interrupt attacks, help free a grabbed player, or support a coordinated attempt to detain Michael. Civilians cannot kill him.
Confirmed weapon framework
- Michael has a Weapon Level in addition to Profile, Killer, and Civilian progression levels.
- Growing Weapon Levels unlocks related rewards, while Michael progression can unlock Starting Weapons and Weapon Executions.
- Michael has multiple options in melee combat and can use his equipment while hunting Special Targets and residents.
- Civilians find useful equipment in lootable containers and around points of interest.
- Civilian equipment includes weapons, distractions, and key items; these categories should not be merged into one weapon list.
- Armed residents, playable Civilians, police, and returning authority roles can resist Michael. Enough organized resistance and the proper equipment can detain him, but never kill him.
How to document a weapon
Record the exact inventory name, role, weapon class, rarity if shown, durability or ammunition, light/heavy/throw behavior, damage or control effect, unlock or spawn method, execution linkage, and current patch. Separate Michael's loadout weapons from Civilian loot and from one-use escape or grab-release items.
Practical use
For Michael, weapon choice should support the planned approach and available executions, but Stalk, Killer Sense, Shape Jump, positioning, and target priority remain part of the build. For Civilians, a weapon is time and space rather than a promise of victory. Use it to break pressure, rescue a held ally, protect an objective, or contribute during a team detention attempt. Do not waste limited equipment on unsupported solo exchanges.
Patch 1.0.1 adjusted Civilian downward melee animations, fixed weapon aim after a startle, and changed repeated-blind diminishing returns against Michael. Any guide written from Early Access footage needs a launch-build recheck.
